Underground 90’s group Real Live consisted of Rapper Larry-O and DJ/Producer K-Def who released an album titled, The Turnaround: A Long Awaited Drama. The duo mostly hailed at the time in the underground scene would create the underground smash ‘Real Live Shit“.
Producer K-Def is mostly known for his work on the classic “Here Comes The Lords” by the group Lords Of The Underground and had worked with many big names like Marley Marl, Tragedy (Intelligent Hoodlum), A.D.O.R., Da Youngstas, World Renown, Positive K, and The Artifacts to name a few.
Although not given much credit for being a forefather of the iconic 90’s sound his catalog was sampled on three occasions. The first time by Easy Mo Bee for “Machine Gun Funk” for The Notorious B.I.G., then by Wildchild for the club anthem “Renegade Master“, followed by a track called “Got Me Open” which was featured on Dr. Dre’s first release on Aftermath Entertainment.
Starting in 2004 the legendary producer kept the ball rolling by contributing tracks on his early collaborator Ghostface Killah‘s “The Pretty Toney Album” (Def Jam) and “Theodore Unit 718” and Ol’ Dirty Bastard‘s “The Osirus Mixtape“.
Today we flashback and pay homage to the producer and his groups work with the iconic Wu-Tang legend and their visuals featuring Lord Tariq and Wu artists Cappadonna, Killa Sin on the remix to ‘Real Live Shit.”
