Onyx & Wu-tang Travel To Post Apocalyptic World On “The Worst” (Classic Times)

Travel to a post-apocalyptic world on the official video for Onyx and Wu-tang Clan’s classic collaboration for their song “The Worst“.

The Worst was released on December 23, 1997, on Tommy Boy Records first as a single for the labels Soundtrack to the Motion Picture “Ride” and later would appear on Onyx classic third studio album “Shut Em Down“.

Coming from two of the most iconic rap crews of the time recording the song became artwork and it had to be done to perfection even if it took all night, as Sticky Fingaz illuded to in an interview for MTV.

“…It was a collaboration. It’s about the worst of the worst, meaning the best. We’re the worst nightmare for everyone in hip-hop. When we recording this song in the studio all night, Meth said that he wouldn’t leave the studio until this track will be done.

In the Diane Martel-directed clip we find a post-apocalyptic world where rap is banned and the two rap collectives wage war on the powers that be. The video was shot in Chinatown Manhattan, New York City, check out Onyx & Wu-Tang “The Worst” below.
