Florida Seeking Death Penalty In YNW Melly Double Murder Case

The state of Florida is seeking the death penalty for YNW Melly after he allegedly killed two of his YNW group members last October 2018.

It’s being reported by TMZ that the state of Florida is confident it can “prove beyond a reasonable doubt” Melly murdered both men —  YNW Sakchaser and YNW Juvy — for financial gain.

According to the legal docs, the State calls the crime an especially heinous crime and said Melly committed homicide in a “cold, calculated and premeditated manner.” Officials also believe Melly is a criminal gang member.

February of this year (2019) Melly was arrested and charged with two counts of first-degree murder following an investigation, police determined Melly and YNW Bortlen staged the scene to look like a drive-by shooting. They then allegedly drove around with the two dead bodies in their Jeep Compass — where police think the shooting occurred — before dropping them off at a local ER.

Florida is one of 30 states that still allow capital punishment.
