Jay-Z Channels Some Golden Era Vibes With Nas & Cam’ron Performance

 

NYC’s famous Webster Hall reopened Friday night (4/26) and to kick off the celebration hometown favorite Jay-Z performed his “B-Sides” set calling on the help of legends Nas and Cam’ron.

Bringing back some classic 90’s Golden Era vibes Jay performed alongside his one-time enemy Nas their collaborative “Success,” a mashup of Nas’ “The World Is Yours” and Jay-Z’s “Dead Presidents” (that samples “The World Is Yours”), and Nas’ “N.Y. State of Mind.”

Adding to the excitement for fans Hov later brought out Cam’ron and Jim Jones and performed their 2002 collaboration ‘Welcome to New York City’.The Roc Nation mogul also paid tribute to the late great Nipsey Hussle spiting a freestyle to fans about reclaiming their neighborhoods, “Gentrify your own hood before these people do it/ Claim eminent domain and have your people move in/ That’s a small glimpse into what Nipsey was doing/ For anybody still confused as to what he was doing.”

Located on East 11th Street in Manhattan, New York Websters Hall was closed in 2017 for renovations that were only supposed to last a year but took nearly two years to complete. The venue is now back in full swing and already announcing upcoming shows.
