Eve who has been on a brief hiatus returns with some new music and sits down with Luc Belaire CEO Brett Berish for an interview on Self Made Tastes Better.
In this rare, long-form interview, the rap icon and talk show co-host opens up about her musical beginnings, the lack of sisterhood in hip hop, and even drops some unexpected names on her upcoming new album.
Eve has been out the music limelight for almost 6 years but has been a co-host on the CBS daytime talk show “The Talk.” Returning back to her roots the rapper has been back in the booth recording in her new home of London and just yesterday (7/11/19) dropped a new single called “Reload,” and it features a guest spot from Jamaican dancehall artist Konshens. The song is her first new song since the release of her 2013 album Lip Lock.
The Pitbull in a skirt, now all grown up is feeling confident re-emerging in a time when the music landscape has changed from what she started with in the early 2000s.
” I feel good, I guess. It’s weird. I feel excited, I feel apprehensive – I’d be lying if I wasn’t – but at the same time, I don’t feel stressed about it because it’s what I do. Eve tells DAZED, “Music is my first love, so I always come back to it. I think I’m excited because music is so different right now, I’m experimenting on this record. Living here, a lot of it is kind of Afrobeats, kind of reggae.”
No word yet on when fans will hear more from the Philly native but while you wait listen to the new song and check out her interview above.
