Young Thug associate Jimmy ‘Peewee Roscoe’ Winfrey was sentenced to 10 years for the infamous Lil Wayne tour bus shooting, and now Birdman and Young Thug are being Investigated.
Over the summer, Winfrey had his conviction overturned from The Georgia Supreme Court, after ruling the Cobb County judge improperly coerced him into taking a plea deal with the threat of receiving a lengthy sentence.
Winfrey has from day one denied being the shooter, but cited that the internal rift led to the incident.
The DA believes Birdman and Young Thug may have put Winfrey up to commit the act, but neither is being charged. On Thursday, the Court of Appeals remanded Winfrey’s case back to Cobb County, as new evidence emerged through court documents. It was revealed that he called Young Thug eight times in 12-minutes leading up to the shooting and even had a jailhouse phone call with Birdman.
In the conversation, obtained from investigators and reported by Atlanta’s WSB News – Bryan Williams is heard talking to Winfrey saying, “Time for you to come out here and get your money. You did everything you could do boss. It’s eye-opening. It’s strictly business, man.”
