Big Sean Drops His First Solo Single Since 2017 On “Overtime”

Detroit artist Big Sean is back after almost a two-year hiatus with his first solo single “Overtime” produced by Hit-Boy, Key Wane, and The Tucker Brothers.

The new song marks Big Sean’s first solo single since 2017 when he dropped his album I Decided. Later that year Sean would collaborate with Metro Boomin on Double or Nothing. His break from the music scene was, just that a break as the rapper began to feel his music career becoming more unenjoyable and like work.

“In a sense I’ve just been returning to my roots, I’ve just been getting back to having fun with it — you know what I’m saying?” Sean told Zane Lowe. “At one point I feel like it might have started to become a burden or work, but now it’s just fun. So this is just me having fun, expressing myself.”

Although this is Sean’s first solo effort in quite a while he still has been hard at work providing features for various artist over the years. In 2019 alone Big Sean has been featured on songs like DJ Khaled Father of Asahd’s ["Jealous”] and [["Thank You”]nd Detroit’s Kash Doll [“["Ready Set”]>
