As A$ap Rocky and fans have been awaiting the verdict in his assault case in Sweden, the verdict is finally in. It was announced this morning (8/14/19) that Swedish authorities found him guilty of assault.
Obtaining a guilty verdict led many to believe that Rocky would need to serve more time behind bars but it appears that won’t be the case. It’s being reported by CNN, his sentence has been ruled conditional. “Based on statements from two witnesses, the court finds that the defendants were not subject to a current or imminent criminal attack,” the ruling released today says. “Therefore, they were not in a situation where they were entitled to use violence in self-defense. Nor could they have perceived themselves to be in such a situation.”
It appears that the A$ap Mob rapper will have to serve a probationary period of two years and the court has also awarded the victim damages “for violation of his integrity and pain and suffering.” Rocky and his entourage will also be required to repay legal expenses to the state.
