We now get a visual for his track “Winter Blues” which is a standout track off Lucas’ “508-507-2209“, his debut major label LP.
In the video we find a distraught Joyner bent on revenge, suiting up as a cop and taking his stress out on the public as he goes on a robbing spree.Although the song itself served as a more personal ode to the rappers life, the visual took a more comical approach.
Speaking with XXL Joyner shed some light on the making of the song and video.”When talking about coming from nothing and at the same time the ones who do have it abuse it, I wanted to show people what that looks like visually,” Joyner tells XXL. “Although this song takes me back to a negative place in my life, the video was a lot of fun shooting. This was one of the few videos I shot where I didn’t actually have a video in mind when I wrote it, but instead came up with the idea afterwards.”
