Judge Edwin Novillo told 6ix9ine’s attorney, “Counselor, if your client is not here on Tuesday, [there’ll be] a bench warrant.”
In 6ix9ine’s defense, the rainbow rappers lawyers explained he was simply too busy traveling to show up, citing flight delays.
“The defendant was in Dubai, was in the Netherlands, and is trying to come back today,” the attorney said.
The prosecutor replied, “All that [means] is he should have booked a flight a day early.”
The missed Court appearance wasn’t the first time he has failed to appear, the Brooklyn native has bailed on a court date related to his alleged assault case.
This Summer 6ix9ine was arrested at JFK Airport facing up to seven years in prison for the felony assault charge on the officer who put him in handcuffs, but it was reduced to a misdemeanor. He was supposed to be in court to confront the issue but was a no-show.
