Bedford Stuyvesant BasketBall Court To Be Named After The Late Notorious B.I.G

Coming just after news breaks of his “King Of NY” mural, on the corner of Bedford Avenue and Quincy Avenue, will not be taken down. the Crispus Attucks Playground on Fulton Street and Classon Avenue in Bed-Stuy will commemorate the fallen Rapper by naming the Basketball court after him.

Due in part to the  efforts of City Councilman Robert Cornegy, who represents Bedford Stuyvesant and northern Crown Heights in New York, a basketball court will be renamed after The Notorious B.I.G. after years of talk to make it happen.

Speaking with DNAinfo Cornegy spoke on the decision saying,“Christopher Wallace’s music put Bedford-Stuyvesant on the map in a billion dollar global industry,”. “I promised his mother, Ms. Voletta Wallace, I would preserve his legacy, so naming this park after him seems very fitting.”

The official unveiling ceremony is set for sometime in August of 2017.
